Michael McKenzie is a Managing Director at Grain Management. Michael brings nearly twenty years of experience in industry and public service and over five years in private equity.
Prior to joining the firm, Michael held top positions at the Federal Communications Commission, where he helped shape policy regarding spectrum, broadband deployment, wireless licensing and emerging mobile technologies. Before that, Michael held senior strategy and business development roles at Microsoft Corp. and practiced communications law at leading Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C. law firms.
Michael graduated with distinction (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Virginia and received his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. He serves on several boards, including the University of Virginia's Batten School of Leadership & Public Policy and Year Up (National Capital Region).
